the daggers voice
This Saturday sees the already-relegated Dagenham & Redbridge make the long journey south to face Plymouth Argyle, who sit nicely perched in the play-offs ahead of the game at Home Park.
It will be the 44th game of a gruelling season for the Daggers, whose fate was secured last Saturday in a 3-2 loss to Leyton Orient at Brisbane Road, where tomorrow's opposition Plymouth won 3-1 in midweek to reignite their previously-faltering automatic promotion push.
That means all that is left to play for is pride, which was evidently lacking in midweek when Dagenham were comfortably beaten 2-0 by Plymouth's play-off rivals AFC Wimbledon thanks to two Lyle Taylor goals, and Dagenham will be aiming to improve on that result in Devon.
Plymouth will be without Reuben Reid and Carl McHugh, while Matt Richards will be unavailable for John Still's side after being stretchered off in midweek. Zavon Hines, Luke Guttridge and Liam O'Brien are all sidelined with different injuries that are likely to put an end to all of their respective seasons'.
The coach departs Victoria Road at 7am and we urge all supporters making the journey to get behind the team in our last few games as a Football League club. My prediction for the clash is 3-0 to Plymouth although I hope that I'm wrong and Dagenham can produce a fighting and proud performance that will be stark contrast to what we saw in midweek, and not too dissimilar to the 1-1 draw with then-leaders Plymouth back in November.
For the third-last time this season, come on you Daggers!!!
